The University of Economics and Law (UEL) - a member University of HCM City National University was founded on the decision 337/ QĐ/TTg on 24th, March, 2010 of Prime Minister. Its forerunner is Faculty of Economics which was based under the authority of Ho chi Minh City National University and founded on the decision 441/ QĐ /ĐHQG/ TCCB of HCM City National University President.

UEL is an undergraduate and postgraduate training center; scientific research and technology transfer center with high quality and advanced level in the fields of Economics, Finance and Banking, Law, Business and Management which meets the needs of socio- economic development in the process of industrialization, modernization and international integration in Viet Nam.
